Looking at the Cross by Pastor Carolyn John 3:9-10, Numbers 21:4-9-A comparison of  Israelites journey around the land of Edom and our  Christian life. * In spite of all the goodness and faithfulness of God, we grumble and complain like the Israelites did during their journey (In spite of getting  manna from heaven and all the other blessings). * Our God is a forgiving God, so He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross and redeem us from our sins like how God asked Moses to make a bronze serpent. * We, after repenting for our sins should look at the cross for forgiveness, just as the Israelites who were bitten by fiery serpents could look at the bronze serpent and get cured. * The death of Jesus was a divine, perfect and complete plan which God had planned for the forgiveness of our sins. And just by believing and trusting that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we are saved. That's enough. * Look at the cross for forgiveness. Look at the risen Lord and believe that it is done. Freedom in Christ by Pastor Alwin John 8:31-36 * This passage is addressed to believers. * Freedom comes from the Son of Man who has truth (His Word). *Abiding in God's Word brings freedom to us. * Believing in Jesus is just the beginning of Christian life,  but Jesus wants us to be His disciples ie. those who abide in His Word. * It is time for us to move on  from being Jesus's believers, to His disciples making His Word our priority and growing in Him. * We are entangled by sin, rather than the freedom that we are called for.
