Salvation

Sermon by Sahay.
Through the sermon we went through the consequences of sin and our way out. The bible says everyone has fallen short of the glory of God and no matter what we think, sin has it consequence and makes our lives on earth miserable. Mostly importantly - our fellowship with God is lost.
So we were asked to question our notions on sin- Can we rescue ourselves by good deeds or acts? Would God overlook our sin as we tend to do? Can we justify sin? No! God being just in His character cannot look away from sin and our deeds will always be filthy rags to please God. Our remedy for sin, is a free gift given by God i.e. Salvation. The sermon was a strong reminder that we were captives of sin but Gods salvation triumphs over slavery to sin and makes us righteous by the acts of true repentance and faith. Once we accept this, we are free from all captivity and must walk as victors over sin.
Salvation is a gift that cannot be bought but rather be received in humility knowing our limitations and bowing to Gods mercy to rescue our wavered hearts.
